JKX holds a 25% interest in the Svidnik, Medzilaborce and Snina exploration licences, covering a total area of 1,247sq.km in the Carpathian Fold Belt in north east Slovakia.
Acquisition of 800 km of 2D seismic data in 2008 through 2011 provided basic regional information in the two eastern licences, as well as infill data in the western Svidnik licence.
A programme of magneto-telluric geophysical surveys combined with seismic reinterpretation has led to identification of a number of shallower prospects across the licences. Three well locations in the central Medzilaborce licence have been selected and are expected to be drilled to approximately 1,100m. Spud dates for these wells are planned for 2016.
