The Ignatovskoye field lies in the centre of the Novo-Nickolaevskoye complex and was the first field to be developed by JKX. It accounted for the majority of the Group’s production until 2005 when it was overtaken by production from the Molchanovskoye field.

During 2008, three infill development wells were completed, two targeting oil in the Visean carbonate and one targeting gas/condensate in the Tournasian carbonate.  Additionally, there were two appraisal wells drilled to the west of the main field targeting gas/condensate from Tournasian sandstone and carbonate.
